4. Do not pry the wheel cover off. Remove the wheelcover by hand. Note: When replacing the wheelcover, carefully line up the tire valve stem and thenotch in the wheel cover.The following steps are necessary if you have the alloy(aluminum) wheel with a center cover that conceals thewheel nuts.2. If your vehicle hasthis aluminumwheel, you mayhave plastic wheelnut caps. Use thewheel nut wrenchto remove thewheel nut capsand to loosen thewheel nuts.3. When reinstalling the decorative nut caps, tighten thecaps snugly with the wheel wrench, then continueone-eighth rotation for steel caps and one-quarterrotation for plastic caps.4. When replacing the cover after the wheel is put backon the vehicle, do not use a hammer or mallet toinstall the cover.1. Insert the flat end of the wheel wrench in thenotch and pry off the center cover. Do not dropthe cover or lay it face down, as it could be scratchedor damaged.5-26
