7 Graphical <strong>User</strong> Interface (GUI)If only offset and hot pixel correction is needed it is not necessary to calibrate agrey image. (see Calculate)Gain Correction: The gain correction is based on a grey reference image, which is taken atuniform illumination to give an image with a mid grey level.Gain correction is not a trivial feature. The quality of the grey reference imageis crucial for proper gain correction.Produce a grey image with an average between 2200 and 3600DN. Click on the Validationbutton to check the average. If the average is in range, the Set Grey Ref button is active.Calculate: Calculate the correction values into the camera RAM. To make the correction valuespermanent, use the ’Save to Flash’ button.Save to Flash: Save the current correction values to the internal flash memory.This will overwrite the factory presets.74
