The Director of this branch is Professor FLORINSTAMATIAN, from Cluj-Napoca with the Co-Director beingProfessor RADU VLADAREANU from Bucharest.The first conference by the Romanian branch of the IanDonald School took place on March 17 th through March19 th , 2006 in Bucharest. It was a huge success with 250participants. Professor ASIM KURJAK was the special invitedspeaker. There were 13 other invited speakers Bucharest.—ILAN TIMOR-TRISCH, ARIS ANTSAKLIS, WOLFGANG HOLZ-GREVE, etc.—, and four speakers from Romania. Some of the topics covered were sonoembriology,fetal malformations, 3D ultrasonography, prenatal diagnosis, etc.The second conference took place also in Bucharest, on October 13 th and 14 th , 2007,at The Royal Palace, continuing the Romanian Congress of Perinatal Medicine. Therewere 18 invited foreign speakers, and 4 Romanian speakers. Over 400 participantsattended. A memorable moment was when Professor KURJAK was given the Title of«Doctor Honoris Causa» of Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest, the largestand oldest Medical School in Romania that just celebrated their 150 years of existence.(There are only 100 Doctor Honoris Causa members.)The third conference took place on 1-2 July 2009 in Cluj Napoca, with over 450 participants.Invited speakers were Prof. ANTSAKLIS, Pro.
