TurkeyBranchDirector: Dr. Cihat Sen | Established: Year 1995Turkish Branch of the «Ian Donald» Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound wasestablished at the year of 1995 and first advanced ultrasound course was organizedat 23-28 April 1995 in Istanbul and hosted by Turkish Perinatology Society and Departmentof Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cerrahpasa Medical School, University ofIstanbul. More than 500 participants attended to this first successful advanced course.After this course, Turkish doctors have been especially interested about the use ofultrasound more intensively in daily practice and also more about clinical Doppler.Second advanced ultrasound course was held in Antalya at May 19-20, 2002 with430 participants mainly Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The host society was theTurkish Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. There was a enjoyablebut successful discussion time at the course which was followed by the National UltrasoundCongress of Obstetrics and Gynecology.Third meeting of Turkish Branch was an advanced ultrasound course «New Developmentin Obstetrics and Gynecology and held in Istanbul at December 5-7, 2003. Thiscourse was very well attendedwith 385 participants.Three days course was runby the speaker from theBoard of Ian Donald Schooland also others was hostedby the Turkish Society of Ultrasoundin Obstetrics andGynecology, the Turkish PerinatologySociety, the TurkishSociety of Obstetricsand Gynecology-Istanbul.Fourth Advanced UltrasoundCourse was held in Antalyaat October 28-29, 2006.Again the host society is theTurkish Society of Ultrasoundin Obstetrics and Gynecology.There were 320participants in the course. Istambul.Recent one has been held in Istanbul at 14-15 December 2007. There were 39 invitedspeakers and chairmen with seven members from the School Co-Directors and 487participants. All presentations have been accepted as excellent papers with contemporaryinformation in this field.
