For example, Dr. ANTSAKLIShas been the General Secretary and amember of the Hellenic Society of Obstetricsand Gynecology for several years.He also holds membership and variousboard positions with the Hellenic Societyof Pe rinatal Medicine (President forseveral years), the Hellenic Society ofPrenatal Diagnosis and Fetal Therapy(Founder and President), the HellenicSociety of Ultrasound in Obstetrics andGynecology (Founder and President since1992), the Hellenic Society of MaternalFetal Medicine (Member of the ExecutiveBoard), and the Hellenic Societyof Medical Studies (Member of the ExecutiveBoard). Dr. ANTSAKLIS has participatedin several committees of the HellenicHealth Council of Perinatal Medicinesince 1990 and on Ultrasound in Obstetricssince 1995. He is member of theEditorial Board of several Greek MedicalJournals. He is Vice President and memberof the Scientific Committee of theWorld Association of Perinatal Medicine.Member of the Board of the InternationalSociety: «The Fetus as a Patient». Heis a member of the «Fetoscopy WorkingGroup». Dr. ANTSAKLIS has also been amember of the expert advisory Panel onMaternal and Perinatal Health and ObstetricsFIGO since 1997. He was Presidentelect of the European Association of PerinatalMedicine (2002-2004), President ofthe 19 th European Congress of PerinatalMedicine, Athens, Oct. 2004 and Presidentof EAPM for 2004-2006 and PastPresident for 2006-2008. He is memberof the International Academy of PerinatalMedicine, Vice President of the MediterraneanUnion on Ob/Gyn, Co-editor ofthe Donald School Journal of Ultrasoundin Ob/Gyn, and editor of the Greek journals«Perinatal Medicine and Neonatology»and «Ultrasonography».Professional and research interestsDr. ANTSAKLIS organized several Nationaland International Conferences and Meetingson Prenatal Diagnosis. His contributionto Perinatal Medicine was great bothin Greece and worldwide. He is a permanentmember of the organization of PrenatalDiagnosis of Hereditary Hemoglobinopathies.Dr. ANTSAKLIS has supervisedPhD thesis, research projects on differentsubjects and acted as referee for otherPhD thesis.
