Don Field Decommissioning ProgrammeDON-BP-0011 CostsThe overall total cost for the proposed Don Field Decommissioning Programme isexpected to be in the order of £150 million.The workscope covered by this overall total cost includes: Plugging and abandoning wells Removing wellheads Cleaning, flushing, hydrocarbon-freeing of pipelines and connected productionflowlines, and disconnection from wells. (Flushing, disconnection and isolation taskscompleted in 2009.) DON-BP-001Don Field Decommissioning Programme2 Cost EstimatesThe overall total cost is derived from cost estimates that have been developed for allaspects of the decommissioning activity. These estimates are based on data fromcontractors, detailed studies and standard industry data. The estimates indicate a rangeof uncertainty caused by a number of factors including the technical, safety andenvironmental risk detailed in the programme and also the contracting risk associatedwith the work yet to be completed.The majority of the work associated with the Don Field Decommissioning Programmewill be competitively tendered. The tendering activity will mitigate the commercialuncertainty currently in the estimate.The overall total cost for the Don Field Decommissioning Programme is expected to bein the order of £150 million.
