DON-<strong>BP</strong>-001<strong>Don</strong> <strong>Field</strong> <strong>Decommissioning</strong> <strong>Programme</strong>2 Cost EstimatesThe overall total cost is derived from cost estimates that have been developed for allaspects of the decommissioning activity. These estimates are based on data fromcontractors, detailed studies and standard industry data. The estimates indicate a rangeof uncertainty caused by a number of factors including the technical, safety andenvironmental risk detailed in the programme and also the contracting risk associatedwith the work yet to be completed.The majority of the work associated with the <strong>Don</strong> <strong>Field</strong> <strong>Decommissioning</strong> <strong>Programme</strong>will be competitively tendered. The tendering activity will mitigate the commercialuncertainty currently in the estimate.The overall total cost for the <strong>Don</strong> <strong>Field</strong> <strong>Decommissioning</strong> <strong>Programme</strong> is expected to bein the order of £150 million.
