Don Field Decommissioning ProgrammeDON-BP-0011 IntroductionThis section describes how BP, on behalf of the Section 29 Notice Holders, will managethe implementation of the Don Field Decommissioning Programmes and provideinformation to the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on the progress ofthe Decommissioning Programmes.It also outlines the verification process that will be used to monitor the progress of theDecommissioning Programmes and ensure compliance with current regulations andworking practices.2 Project Management2.1 Don Decommissioning Project TeamBP as the operator of the field will be responsible for the implementation of the overallproject management. The Don Decommissioning Project Team will develop andimplement the project from inception through to completion of all operations and finalinspections of the site.The BP Don Decommissioning Project Manager is responsible to the BPDecommissioning Manager for all activities associated with the decommissioning of theDon Field. The Decommissioning Project Manager’s accountabilities include, but are notlimited to: Overseeing the safety and well being of his/her people Delivering safe and reliable activities through quality planning Decommissioning preparations, driving standardisation of processes (whereapplicable)2.2 Technical ExecutionWork will be performed under relevant policies and procedures. Health, Safety andEnvironment (HSE) reviews and audits, personnel training and competence assessmentare key elements within these policies and procedures.3 Progress ReportingDon Field decommissioning activities are intended to be managed in accordance withthe project schedule (refer to Section 13) that will form the basis of progress reporting tothe DECC.Project Management and VerificationMay 2011 15-1
