His impression was confirmed byBenham’s Site Superintendent, who stated, “I know that thecombination of the two divisions produced better resultsthan anything we could possibly have received from anytwo separate contractors.”Work on the addition to the DNP manufacturingfacility at Concord was designed to allow installation of anew printer line at the facility. WBI began work for KajimaBuilding and Design Group in November 2010, with IsaiahWayne as Project Manager. Again, the project involvedcombination grading and concrete services, with thescope of work including site grading, site utilities, buildingfoundations, equipment foundations, slabs-on-grade andelevated slabs. There were very exacting requirements forextremely flat surfaces to allow proper installation of thenew printers, which the concrete crews were able to meetand exceed.In December 2010, WBI crews began work on ProjectAndale, the new Facebook Data Center, with AdamWeisner as Project Manager, and Isaiah Wayne as SeniorProject Manager. Despite the challenges of winter weather,the team was committed to meeting the requirements ofan aggressive completion schedule and the client’s needs.WBI’s scope of work included building foundations, castin-placewalls, equipment foundations, slabs-on-metaldeck, slabs-on-grade, curbs and housekeeping pads. Theproject used approximately 18,000 cubic yards of concrete.The team’s performance on the initial contract resulted inseveral additional contracts for work at the same ForestCity site.During the first quarter of 2011, WBI began work on aCenter for the Performing Arts at the Virginia Tech campusat Blacksburg, Virginia. The project was noteworthy notonly because it was for a new client, Holder Construction,Fly TowerConstruction for theVirginia Tech Centerfor the Arts...This view showsthe opening thatcreates the visibleportion of the stage.The shoring at theopening is the PeriUp system.63
