Types of Matches<br />

League Matches<br />

Matches run from Sept – May and are planned and forecasted by the League fixtures<br />

Secretary.<br />

Each team can find a forecast of its League matches on the TJFYL website. The TFJFC<br />

Section describes this in more detail.<br />

Only registered players may play in these games.<br />

Cup Matches (Competitive Leagues)<br />

The following Cup Games are played for each competitive League and are listed in priority<br />

order:<br />

Charity Cup<br />

League Cup<br />

Minton Cup<br />

All Cups are played over the League period and only registered players may play in these<br />

games.<br />

Charity Cup<br />

The TFJFL and Shrewsbury County Junior League combine to play each other<br />

through a series of random draws and knock out rounds within each age group.<br />

Contact details for SJL are normally posted on the TFJFC website.<br />

League Cup<br />

All teams of the same age group play through a number of knock out rounds to<br />

win the League Cup<br />

Minton Cup<br />

Those teams who do not reach the semi-finals of the League Cup are entered<br />

into the Minton Cup and go through a number of knock out rounds to the final.<br />

Shield / Plate and Cup Games (Non-Competitive<br />

Leagues)<br />

The League is authorised to put on up to three competitive competitions, these are<br />

normally in the form of Shield, Plate and Cup competitions. Results are still not publicised<br />

apart from annotating who the winners of particular matches are and who is through to<br />

the next round(s).<br />
