Background
As a Club we want to ensure Managers and Coaches are fully competent and informed of their
duties and responsibilities to carry them out in a professional and effective manner. Additionally
RCJFC encourages personal development of coaches to enhance our player experience and
provide additional resources and competence within our volunteers.
To that effect, pre-season RCJFC will provide a training session for all Managers and Coaches on
the expectations and requirements of the roles and the Club. Additionally it’ll cover the
procedures to follow internally to manage a team and external requirements such as League or
FA.
Mentors
New Managers in their first season will be allocated a Mentor within the Club, this’ll generally be
a senior manager or volunteer with sufficient experience and knowledge to provide support and
advice to a new manager on the administration of their team.
Training
Coach Mentors
RCJFC has established at least one Adult Mentor. Upon request to the Training Officer (by
a coach), Mentors will observe one or training sessions and provide impartial advice and
support to enable personal develop of their coaching skills and knowledge.
Coaching courses to achieve Level 1 in Coaching is available by The FA. The Training Officer will
organise these on behalf of the Club.
The club will sponsor one level 1 coach per team, where there is a need and the Club has sufficient
funds it may subsidise in part or in full a 2 nd coach per team or a coach to attend a level 2 course,
however this will be on a case by case basis and not the norm.
CPD courses are regularly held by Shrops FA and coaches are strongly encouraged to attend these.
