net fixings are evident for safety reasons. Nets may be secured by plastic fixings, arrow head<br />

shaped plastic hooks or tape and not by metal cup hooks. Any metal cup hooks should be removed<br />

and replaced. New goalposts should not be purchased if they include metal cup hooks.<br />

Goalposts which are “homemade” or which have been altered from their original size or<br />

construction should not be used under any circumstances as they potentially pose a serious safety<br />

risk<br />

Team First Aider<br />

A minimum of one qualified First Aider is required for each team, this is a <strong>RC</strong>JFC and Chartership<br />

requirement.<br />

The FA First Aid course forms part of the Level 1 coaching course, equivalent first aid qualifications<br />

will be accepted e.g. an ‘in date’ HSE accredited qualification or if after September 30 th , an Ofqual<br />

accredited Emergency First Aid qualification.<br />

SUGGESTED MINIMUM CONTENTS OF A TEAM 1 st AID KIT<br />

Mini Sports First Aid Kit Specifications<br />

● 10 x Adhesive Plasters<br />

● 2 x Medium First Aid Dressing<br />

● 6 x Wipes<br />

● 1 x Blunt/Blunt Scissors<br />

● 4 x Big Plasters 7.5cm x 10cm<br />

● 1 x Foil Heat Blanket<br />

● 1 x Instant Ice Pack<br />

● 1 x Crepe Bandage 7.5cm x 4.5m<br />

● 1 x Yellow Disposable Bag<br />

● 1 x Pack of 5 Sterile Non Woven Swabs 10cm x 10cm<br />

● 2 x Med/Large Pairs of Disposable Gloves<br />

Emergency Procedure<br />

Every precaution should be taken to prevent injury or harm to either a player, volunteer or<br />

spectator.<br />

A qualified first aider MUST always be present at training and matches and the team should at all<br />

times have a sufficiently stocked 1 st Aid Kit present and mobile phone.<br />

In the event of an incident of a medical nature, the teams 1 st Aider should evaluate the problem<br />

and treat within the training and competency they have.<br />
