COOKING CAMPS<br />

Come enjoy a <strong>fun</strong> <strong>and</strong> creative new summer camp, we’ll be<br />

cooking, tasting, stirring, mixing, meeting new friends,<br />

laughing, having tons of <strong>fun</strong> <strong>and</strong> taking a cool dip in the LGHS<br />

Pool during these summer cooking camps! All cooking classes<br />

are taught by Georgette LaBossiere <strong>and</strong> are held at Los Gatos<br />

High School kitchen, room #100- the building is located in the<br />

back of the school by the tennis courts. Parking lots are also<br />

available in the back.<br />

The children will have lunch provided each day. Each Monday<br />

will we will decide the menu for that week, menus listed may<br />

change. Children will be bringing home plenty of delicious<br />

samples so they can share their cooking talents they have<br />

learned each day! Bring your swimsuit & towel; we’ll enjoy a<br />

cool dip in the LGHS pool during recreation swim hour<br />

(Swimming: Tues.-Fri.). Lab fee of $50 for food supplies<br />

payable to the instructor first day of camp.<br />

COOKING CAMP- AMERICAN SPECIALS This week will be<br />

American Specials, those favorites include fried chicken, potato<br />

salad, chicken pot pie, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gourmet veggies<br />

(organic when possible) strawberry short cake, plum cake, carrot<br />

cake, the list goes on <strong>and</strong> on.<br />

COOKING CAMP- DESSERTS Yum… Dessert specials all week!<br />

We’ll be baking cookies, cakes, <strong>and</strong> pastries. Why there are so many<br />

wonderful <strong>and</strong> delicious sweet treats we’ll need help to decide our<br />

scrumptious recipes. A healthy lunch will be provided this weeknot<br />

just desserts!<br />

COOKING CAMP- FRENCH CUISINE This week will be French;<br />

Roasted leg of Lamb, Gran Mariner Soufflé, Zucchini boats with<br />

shrimp with mornay sauce, cold chicken Mojidi, pistachio rice<br />

salad, sausage <strong>and</strong> white bean cassoulette, herbed couscous with<br />

black olives, etc.<br />

COOKING CAMP- ITALIAN DELIGHTS This week will be<br />

cooking Italian style with our fantastico pizza, pasta, biscotti, cannelloni,<br />

potato gnocchi with veal sauce, sausage <strong>and</strong> pepper grill,<br />

<strong>and</strong> much more!<br />

COOKING CAMP-PASTA & PIZZA We’ll be making some very<br />

Italian dishes in this class so put on your chefs hat! We’ll create our<br />

own special pasta from scratch, <strong>and</strong> stuff it, roll it, <strong>and</strong> cover it with<br />

delicious sauces <strong>and</strong> meat fillings. We’ll whip up sauces to go on top<br />

such as Mornay sauce, velvety tomato sauce <strong>and</strong> more! Pizza’s wow<br />

so many toppings <strong>and</strong> wonderful creative crusts to explore!<br />

COOKING CAMP-SOUTH OF THE BORDER You’ll feel like you<br />

traveled south of the border when you take this class. We’ll make<br />

fresh chili rellenos, special refried beans, delicious Spanish rice, <strong>and</strong><br />

warm tortillas. Then we’ll put together cheese enchiladas with green<br />

verde sauce. Tasty tacos will be a made as well.<br />

Instructor: Georgette LaBossiere with the Children’s Culinary<br />

Academy of Palo Alto, voted one of the top five local culinary<br />

academies by the San Jose Mercury News in 1995.<br />
