SPORTS ❂<br />
ADULT PROGRAMS<br />
BILLIARDS, INTRO<br />
Older or younger, experienced or beginner this course is designed<br />
to introduce or refresh the basic techniques required to enjoy the<br />
noble game of pocket billiards. We cover stance, grip, bridge,<br />
aiming, breaking, banking, cue ball control, game rules, etc. with<br />
special ‘trick shots’ shown at each session. Students pay $7/session<br />
for table time <strong>and</strong> there is an optional $10 fee for a comprehensive<br />
Instructors h<strong>and</strong>book. This 6 week class will meet 2 hours per<br />
week. A $7 table fee is payable at each session. Saturday class is<br />
located at Campbell Billiards, 1777 S. Bascom Ave. at the corner<br />
of Campisi Way phone (408) 377-9886; Thursday evening class at<br />
Cue Topia Billiards, near Hwy 85 <strong>and</strong> Branham Lane, at 4700<br />

FENCING - ADULT INTRO<br />
Everyone enjoys playing with lightweight flexible swords, <strong>and</strong><br />
fencing is one of the safest, most rewarding sports available.<br />
Everyone should have at least an introduction to this modern<br />
Olympic sport <strong>and</strong> the art of science of swordplay; classes for all age<br />
groups from ages 5 to 80, boys <strong>and</strong> girls. This intro class emphasizes<br />
<strong>fun</strong> while learning the basics of the sport. The 3 class session prepares<br />
you to join the beginning class level if you wish to continue;<br />
we play <strong>fun</strong> developmental games, do paired drills, <strong>and</strong> you will<br />
fence each day! You will learn basic rules, safety <strong>and</strong> manners of the<br />
sport, <strong>and</strong> actions on the blades while developing <strong>and</strong> maintaining<br />
physical <strong>and</strong> mental fitness, self-discipline <strong>and</strong> great sportsmanship<br />
skills. All rental equipment fees are included; wear shorts or sweat<br />
pants, t-shirt, <strong>and</strong> lace up athletic shoes. The CFA coaches are professionally<br />
trained <strong>and</strong> certified instructors <strong>and</strong> fencing masters.<br />

ICE SK ATING: INTRO.<br />
Learn the basics of ice skating with the staff at Ice Center, Vallco<br />
Fashion Park. Includes half-hour lessons, skate rentals <strong>and</strong> a one<br />
half-hour practice time. All participants should have legs covered<br />
for protection <strong>and</strong> wear gloves. Arrive at the rink at least 15 minutes<br />
before class time.<br />

PACIFIC SAILING - BEG.<br />
Learn to sail on the Monterey Bay. The course is <strong>fun</strong>, safe, educational<br />
<strong>and</strong> relaxing. A total of 12 hours (two 6 hr days) of h<strong>and</strong>s on<br />
instruction will provide you with the skills <strong>and</strong> confidence you need<br />
to safely skipper or crew a 22 to 27 ft tiller sailboat in light to moderate<br />
wind <strong>and</strong> sea conditions. The Basic Sailing <strong>and</strong> Seamanship<br />
course is the first two days of our 8 day American Sailing<br />
Association Certification program taught by USCG Licensed<br />

www.pacificsail.com. Please bring soft-soled shoes, warm windbreaker,<br />
sweater, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, drinking water <strong>and</strong><br />
lunch. An $18 optional text book entitled Sailing Fundamentals<br />
not included in the fee is available at the Pacific Yachting office.<br />
Lifejackets are provided. Parking permits are also available at $5<br />
per day in the office.<br />

RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL<br />
Getting fit or staying in shape can be <strong>fun</strong>! One third of this beginning/intermediate,<br />
coed class consists of warm-up, toning, realization<br />
exercises, <strong>and</strong> volleyball drills. The other two-thirds is actual<br />
volleyball play. Gym shoes required; loose, comfortable clothing recommended.<br />
