ADULT PROGRAMS
BEADING LIKE A PRO!
Make unique and beautiful jewelry for yourself or your friends in
these fun classes! You will learn the professional techniques of
Japanese weaving, pearl knotting, stringing, earring construction
and wire-wrapping. PROGRAM NO. 2176.301 Wire wrapping,
crimping and finishing - ‘Link It Together’ necklace and earrings.
Materials fee is $50. PROGRAM NO. 2176.302 ‘Jazzy Illusion’-3-
strands of floating beads in a necklace. Material fee is $45.
PROGRAM NO. 2176.303 Y-shape necklace with woven round bead
- Japanese weaving and wire-wrapping. Material fee is $45. These
workshops are co-sponsored with the City of Saratoga Recreation
Department. Tools are provided. Additional materials and
beading tools are available for purchase in class. Materials fee is
payable to the instructor in class for beads, cords, semi-precious
stones and/or fresh water pearls, sterling silver bead tips, clasps,
and other findings. Beginning to intermediate students are
welcome in all classes.

BYOB (BRING YOUR OW N BEADS)
Whether they are loose, an old sentimental necklace that needs new
life, or a garage sale find that you want to re-do, this is the place for
you. Lena will have additional materials for purchase if you need supplies
and will assist you with advice in your new creations. Tools are
provided. Beginners or more experienced students are all welcome.

EZ-HANDS ON DIGITAL PHOTO
AND SCANNER
You have photos that you may need scanned or have taken with your
digital camera, now what? Using a provided computer and scanner
you’ll learn the principles and practices of how to use PhotoShop
Elements to manage and edit your photos. No matter what equipment
or photo software you have, the concepts you learn will allow
you to create and preserve great photos. Class is co-sponsored with
the City of Saratoga Recreation Dept. Lab fee of $30 for a manual
is payable to instructor at first class. Parking passes will be
handed out in class.

ILLUSTRATED WATERCOLOR
JOURNALING
Do you ever feel you’ve seen something beautiful and can’t remember
exactly how it looked? With life in this fast paced world so hurried,
it’s important to slow down occasionally and notice life’s details.
Students learn how to pay attention to their world and see, then draw,
things that are important to them. Anything might strike your fancy:
the first tomato of the season or a child’s soccer game. Discover different
ways of sketching: sighting, contour and quick sketch. Learn
basic color theory, watercolor tricks and techniques, and expand ideas
to help you get your own journal or theme journal started. Parking
passes, for students enrolled in classes lasting longer than 1 hour,
will be handed out at the first class.A $15 material fee is payable to
the instructor at the first class. NO CLASS: 7/4.

ILLUSTRATED WATERCOLOR
JOURNALING AROUND THE TOW N
Take your newly-learned journaling skills on the town! Many students
feel uncomfortable journaling in public. Join us so that we
can do it together. Gay and Christina will be demonstrating many
drawing and painting techniques while we all gather in interesting
and fun locations in town. Come with questions, ideas to share,
enthusiasm for creative capturing of your experiences and a little
cash if you’d like coffee, treats, etc. Parking passes will be handed
out at the first class. Meeting at Neighborhood Center the first
class only, then meeting at pre-determined cafes & scenic spots
around Los Gatos. Bring your watercolor journaling supplies
(book, paints, brush, pens, etc.). NO CLASS: 7/4.

METAL CLAY JEWELRY MASTERS
LEVEL-REGISTER IN CLASS
Open to alumni of the Beginning Metal Clay Jewelry classes. Please
bring your own tool kit. Fee does not include PMC®. PMC®; purchase

PAINTING DESIGN WITH ACRYLIC
WEEKEND WORKSHOP
Come work out your compositions from photos or
sketches, and paint them with acrylic paints. Lots of
instruction on design and in using colors and textures. This
will be a fun workshop where we experiment together about
the possibilities of acrylic on canvas. Bring your own canvas or
panel, paints, brushes and mediums. Materials list will be printed
on the registration receipt, faxed upon request or found on-line

PHOTOGRAPHY - GETTING
GREAT PORTRAITS
No matter what type of camera you have, film, digital or video, this
class teaches you how to use natural and artificial light to get professional
quality portraits of individuals and groups. This simplified
system is based upon the five basic lighting patterns used in
Hollywood films and professional portrait studios. There’s no experience
necessary with this system because we start at the very beginning
and use the auto exposure mode for the whole process. You’ll
learn about soft lighting, hard lighting, solving common problems,
and making tough lighting situations work for you. Your people pictures
will look totally different after this class! Handouts are
included in the fee. Bring your camera to class.
