SWIMMING<br />
JUNIOR LIFEGUARD<br />
Individuals who are interested in becoming a lifeguard but are not<br />
old enough, consider this class. You will become acquainted with<br />
what is necessary to become a lifeguard, receive training in this area,<br />
<strong>and</strong> will be provided opportunities to assist the regular staff in lifeguard<br />
situations. Students must be strong swimmers <strong>and</strong> possess<br />
Advanced Swim Skills. No class Friday, July 4th.<br />

KIDS SWIM TEAM -<br />
HALF/FULL SUMMER<br />
If you know how to swim at least one lap of the pool <strong>and</strong> would like<br />
to be on a swim team with other kids, this is the program for you.<br />
You will receive instruction in stroke techniques, competitive/racing<br />
techniques, racing dives <strong>and</strong> turns. We encourage <strong>and</strong> promote the<br />
sport of swimming <strong>and</strong> a healthy lifestyle <strong>through</strong> swimming <strong>and</strong><br />
having lots of <strong>fun</strong>! We will have Inter-club races/meets <strong>and</strong> will try<br />
to have one swim meet against another team.<br />

KIDS TRIATHLON CLASS -<br />
BEG/INT, INT/ADV<br />
Kain Performance Multi-Sport will be conducting 3 one-week long<br />
Kain Kids Triathlon camps beginning in June <strong>2008</strong>. The camps will<br />
be taught by Pete <strong>and</strong> Shari Kain <strong>and</strong> staff. Camps will be geared<br />
toward athletes aged 7-14 from beginning to intermediate levels.<br />
Sessions will include swimming, biking <strong>and</strong> running. Practice transitions<br />
will also be a big part of the class. Helmet required as well as<br />
a fully <strong>fun</strong>ctioning bike. Kids should be ready to swim, bike, or run<br />
at each class session. Classes will meet at the Los Gatos High School<br />
<strong>Community</strong> Aquatic center.<br />

❂ AQUATICS PROGRAMS<br />
LOS GATOS MASTERS<br />
The Los Gatos Masters Swim program will provide the individual<br />
with opportunities to improve swimming performance <strong>through</strong><br />
expert coaching, as well as promote a healthy, active lifestyle. The<br />
program is designed for people who want to learn to swim with<br />
greater ease <strong>and</strong> efficiency. Emphasis will be placed on developing<br />
swimming skills, race preparation for swim meets, triathlons, <strong>and</strong><br />
open water swims, as well as having <strong>fun</strong>! Positive coaching <strong>and</strong> professional<br />
instruction at each workout will enhance the enjoyment<br />
of swimming for all. Los Gatos Masters welcomes swimmers of all<br />
abilities, age 18 or over, who are interested in regular structured<br />
workouts. Previous competitive swimming experience is not necessary.<br />
The Los Gatos Masters is a registered United States Masters<br />
Swimming (USMS) program <strong>and</strong> each member must be registered<br />
<strong>through</strong> the USMS if they wish to compete in USMS meets. $60<br />
Monthly pass, $10 drop in, $80 Punch Card for 10 swims (only)<br />
good for six months. Masters Swim times are Mon, Wed Fri. mornings<br />
6am-7:15 am <strong>and</strong> Saturday mornings 7:30 am-9:00 am. Please<br />
do not park on the Los Gatos High School campus during the<br />
morning swim times. Swimmers MUST be off LGHS campus no<br />
later than 7:30am (W/W/F) due to LGHS District regulations.<br />

WATER POLO-BOYS AND GIRLS -<br />
BEG., INT., ADV.<br />
Welcome to the hot sport of water polo! If you know how to swim<br />
<strong>and</strong> want a new challenge try water polo. We are looking for boys<br />
<strong>and</strong> girls of all abilities ages 7-13. These classes will be geared<br />
towards each individual age <strong>and</strong> skill level. You will learn ball h<strong>and</strong>ling<br />
skills, treading water, passing <strong>and</strong> catching, defensive <strong>and</strong><br />
offensive skills. It’s <strong>fun</strong>, exciting <strong>and</strong> you will make new friends.<br />
Levels will be divided by the following criteria: Beginners (7-9 yrs.)<br />
- Classes will be held in shallow water. Kids may have little to zero<br />
experience with the sport. Intermediate (10-13 yrs.) - Classes will<br />
be held in deeper water, swimming strength important. Advanced<br />
(10-13 yrs.) - This level is geared toward club type learning <strong>and</strong> kids<br />
interested in high school polo. No Class Friday, July 4th.<br />
