RSPB Lochwinnoch
As we move into spring time, this is the perfect time
of year to explore the RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature
Reserve! Recently, we have had a number of
fantastic wildlife sightings, including several sightings
of otters out enjoying the Aird Meadow Loch – how
lovely! We have also had several sightings of curlew
foraging at the margins of our pond area, as well as continued sightings of
large flocks of lapwing, and there are also a number of waterfowl species to
be seen out on the main lochs!
Easter time is sure to be a super couple of weeks here at the RSPB
Lochwinnoch – with several eggcelent Easter events lined up! Our Easter
Eggstravaganza will take place on Monday 6th April at 12noon to 3pm.
During this fun-filled afternoon we will be hosting a number of wildlifethemed
Easter activities for children of all ages; including egg decorating, a
treasure hunt, face painting and our ever popular Egg Drop Challenge! Cost
for this event will be £5, or £3 for Wildlife Explorers, and accompanying
adults go free!
We will also be holding two Funtime Friday events, the first of which will be
‘Snap Happy!’ on Friday 10th April, and then ‘Butterfly Besties!’ on Friday
17th April. We will hold two sessions for
each of these events, the first at 11am-
1pm for those aged 7 yrs & under and
the second at 2pm-4pm for ages 8 &
over. Children aged 8 & under must be
accompanied by an adult, and the cost
will be £7 or £5 for Wildlife Explorers.
We will also hold a Make Your Own
Mondays: The Great Bird-Cake Bake
Off event on Monday 13th April. We will
be holding two sessions for this event
also, one at 11am-1pm and another
at 2pm-4pm – so let’s all get cooking!
Booking is essential for this event, and
cost is £5 or £3 for Wildlife Explorers.
Accompanying adults go free for all of
these events, and booking is essential.
