of Place. The 4 Keys are reference books for anyone seeking solutions to the
complexly interwoven, transdisciplinary issues pertaining to the transition
to low carbon societies.
The DESD concerns all stakeholders, who can contribute to the success
of the Decade and be agents of change at their own level, in their own
communities and nations. Gaia Education is actively engaged in actions in
support of the DESD in 23 countries in different stages of development, in
both urban and rural settings. UNESCO is committed to continue mobilizing
stakeholders around ESD and to lead the global movement to a successful
completion of the Decade. It sees the 4 Keys as a meaningful contribution
to the wide range of books and publications generated within the framework
of the Decade.
