nuances of the weather. I am less impatient, more able to take the long view.
Peaceful.
I began to use a unique blend of esoteric arts in healing my little energy
efficient, passive solar home – which, I discovered, was constructed on an
old garbage dump from timbers salvaged from a burned house on a nearby
Indian Reservation. (In the native culture, these kind of homes were often
abandoned as sites for spirits). The casita is constructed on a plane higher
than my friend’s (dominating), on a rise with little support at the back or
either side (instability, insecurity) and with an entry door directly in line
with a service road, exactly opposite the back door (adversely affecting
prosperity, opportunity and grounding). There was a distinct lack of
comfortable outdoor space for people to gather and commune with each
other and with Nature.
There turned out to be very little opportunity or willingness to
construct external forms to stabilize the casita’s configuration. I found
myself resonating with the isolation and a weak energy field. Something
had to be done.
It became my mission to discover alternate ways to achieve the stability
and harmony I desperately needed within some fairly narrow constraints.
Designer as Geomancer
The following list chronicles some of the tools and processes used over the
last two years. I have been guided toward ways to address each one of the
initial challenges without major construction, the details of which are too
long for this article.
• Day and night property walks using full body perception.
• Ceremony with friends and colleagues for the purpose of gathering
data and guidance.
• Painting, planting, cleaning and clearing.
• Asking. Following guidance. Taking appropriate action.
• Feng Shui, geomancy, dowsing, bio-geometry and visualization.
• Interior architecture redesign.
• Creation of healing exterior forms, spaces and gardens with food
and medicinal crops.
• Meditation, surrender, acknowledgement, gratitude and service.
Where I am now…?
A wise person once said that if you want to know the result of your intention
and actions, notice what is happening around you. My circle of family and
friends has grown and is flourishing. My soul continues to be nurtured by the
earth, the sky and all things in between. The gardens flourish. Last evening,
my friend invited me to a spontaneous celebration at a newly created fire
