are of the size that one-a-day could be read comfortably during breakfast
so that by the end of a month-and-a-half one will have been introduced to
the full range of considerations for the Ecological dimension of ecovillage
designing. Students may be expected to take those presentations they
particularly resonate with and follow up with more thorough study.
I’m exceedingly jubilant about the assembly of authors that have been
gathered in this volume – some being published for the very first time.
Each is a world-class teacher; each has offered a professional treatment of
the material they have become familiar with. There are both Ph.D.s and
grassroots activists, long-time permaculture educators and sustainability
entrepreneurs, NGO administrators and ecovillage pioneers. What they
all have in common is a lifetime of giving their heart and soul to a vision
whose fruition is still to come. I believe there is something in this book for
everybody. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I have putting it
