Promoting inclusion<br />

Countries have deployed various political<br />

approaches in dealing with difference and<br />

diversity among their population and within<br />

borders. Societies have dealt with cultural diversity<br />

and heterogeneous populations through<br />

multiple measures that focus on integration,<br />

assimilation and multiculturalism.<br />

These approaches have often required an<br />

evolving notion of citizenship with socio political<br />

features. These features have had varying effects<br />
