Political Illusions of the Cajun Mafia

This book examines “robust” political corruption in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The book scrutinizes the transparency, schemes and co-conspirators involved in political corruption. It discusses how top elected officials use their power and public resources funded by local sales and property taxes to improperly target, retaliate and even maliciously prosecute the most ridiculous matters to further their personal agenda. The book examines in detail the types of public infringements involving corruption as well as the vast network of political connections to other various public schemes. The book is further evidence that political corruption in Louisiana is not only profound but more like organized crime controlled by mob bosses. Louisiana no longer will turn a “blind eye” and now demands zero tolerance for corruption and nepotism of elected officials.

HOUSTON, TX (KPLC) - A former district attorney candidate in Calcasieu Parish denies
having anything to do with a Houston-based learning center accused of selling fake high
school transcripts and diplomas.
Local attorney Christian Chesson and some members of his family are named as
defendants in a lawsuit against the Parkview Baptist Home School, according to a news
release issued Monday by the Texas Attorney General's Office.
Chesson said Tuesday in an email to KPLC that the school is owned by his sisters and he
has nothing to do with it.
"My name is on the articles of incorporation but that's it. I didn't even know that until
today," he said.
The Texas Attorney General's Office filed the lawsuit Monday against the school. A hearing
for a temporary restraining order will be held Wednesday, April 22 in a Harris County
district court.
According to the news release, state court documents said that since 1994 "Parkview
Home School has provided fake high school diplomas and transcripts to Texas
consumers ... (they) paid fees between $200 and $300 and are sent two workbooks, along
with the answer keys, and upon return, 'students' obtain a diploma and transcript in as
little as one to two days."
The lawsuit also alleges that despite Parkview's claims, their degrees are usually not
accepted by colleges, universities, law enforcement, or employers of any kind.
Also named in the lawsuit are Chesson's sisters, Tara Rose Castellanos and Mindy Kay
Ring, and his father, Lilton Chesson Jr. Chesson Family Partnership and Legal Properties
LLC are also named as defendants.
The Texas AG's office is "seeking court-ordered penalties" from Chesson and his
family"for numerous violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and the Texas
Assumed Business or Professional Name Act."
Chesson said he hopes the judge at Wednesday's hearing can see past all the allegations.
"I hope that the judge sees them (the school) to be different from all the fly-by-night
places," he said.
