Political Illusions of the Cajun Mafia

This book examines “robust” political corruption in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The book scrutinizes the transparency, schemes and co-conspirators involved in political corruption. It discusses how top elected officials use their power and public resources funded by local sales and property taxes to improperly target, retaliate and even maliciously prosecute the most ridiculous matters to further their personal agenda. The book examines in detail the types of public infringements involving corruption as well as the vast network of political connections to other various public schemes. The book is further evidence that political corruption in Louisiana is not only profound but more like organized crime controlled by mob bosses. Louisiana no longer will turn a “blind eye” and now demands zero tolerance for corruption and nepotism of elected officials.

The allegations made are very serious felony charges and have vast consequences from both court
ordered sentences and additional consequences and damages due to extreme amounts of media press
reports by using all media’s including television, internet articles and large
full front page newspaper. KPLC was provided a copy of the fact checking
analysis and a request was made to publish necessary and applicable
corrections to the previously printed articles. KPLC responded that they
may have been “mislead” or “given false information” in regards to the
heavily reported “Operation 27” investigation.
The misleading, dishonest, over-exposed media campaign titling
articles such as “Authorities make arrest in the largest anti-drug operation
in the history of Southwest Louisiana” show a politically motivated agenda
ahead of DeRosier’s re-election campaign.
Former Calcasieu Parish District Judge, who legal counsel for some of the defendants charged in
“Operation 27” filed a motion to order the CPDA to “cease and deceit from directing the clerk of Court
from making manual assignment of criminal cases.” The District Judge hearing the case, issued an
advisory ruling against the practice but would not make a ruling because that was not the nature of the
motion filed at the time. “This action by the District Attorney’s office has the appearance of impropriety
and gives the district attorney an advantage in the assignment of cases that the defense does not have and
has the effect further of violating the defendant’s equal protection and due process law,” according to
attorney motion. A former Clerk of Court employee testified during the hearing that she followed the
instructions of the District Attorney even if she believed the information was incorrect.
