Political Illusions of the Cajun Mafia

This book examines “robust” political corruption in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The book scrutinizes the transparency, schemes and co-conspirators involved in political corruption. It discusses how top elected officials use their power and public resources funded by local sales and property taxes to improperly target, retaliate and even maliciously prosecute the most ridiculous matters to further their personal agenda. The book examines in detail the types of public infringements involving corruption as well as the vast network of political connections to other various public schemes. The book is further evidence that political corruption in Louisiana is not only profound but more like organized crime controlled by mob bosses. Louisiana no longer will turn a “blind eye” and now demands zero tolerance for corruption and nepotism of elected officials.

L’Auberge’s response on being paid $12,490 in Public Funds for 1 billboard from the Calcasieu Parish District
Attorney's Office during the time of John DeRosier’s Re-Election Campaign. L’Auberge said it was “technically”
paid for by public funds of the Calcasieu District Attorney’s Office, but they felt it was supplemental to John
DeRosier's personal Re-election Campaign for District Attorney." L’Auberge invoiced the billboard because
they were just, "doing what they were told to do."
Pinnacle (L’Auberge) Director of Media Relations & Public Affairs (the authorized spokesperson for the Casino
that received $12k in public funds for one billboard) “liked” the comment.
Why would they have such an interest in keeping certain officials in power? It is has been rumored that the
casino, their landlord and other “individuals of power” held back the construction and opening of a second
casino that would of provided our community 2,000 jobs and $25-50MM each year in tax funds to for parks,
schools, roads and law enforcement. Keep in mind they are a public traded corporation whose duties is to
increase shareholder wealth. Keep in mind that our community permits them to operate here under
expectation to increase the community living.
Why would they withhold so much tax funds from a community? Why are they all the sudden trying to liquid
all Louisiana assets and sell real estate to a holding company and just become a casino operation company?
Do you think shareholders find it acceptable that before an industrial boom a company moves to liquid real
estate assets?
L’Auberge is attempting to become judgment proof by selling all their assets.
The District Attorney’s office will prosecute their bad loans to people for gambling as criminal violations like
writing bad checks. Is it appearance of impropriety that they are outside the duties and laws that protect
consumers from lending and loan companies and that debts associated with criminal violations are not
protected or dischargeable by bankruptcy laws? It appears to be extortion to misuse criminal laws and courts
to collect on their bad loans to gamblers fully understanding the probabilities and statistics about "house
edge".
