Oliver sighed. “Look, Nicky, I know you’re upset with me, but I really didn’t mean for
any of this to hurt you. I loved your grandmother and I love this house more than you can
possibly imagine. I thought you wanted to preserve Tyersall Park, and when I heard that
the Bings were on the lookout for a new place in Singapore, I just put two and two
together. These people love the house, and they’re committed to maintaining its
architectural integrity. And they actually have the kind of money it takes to restore the
house and keep the estate in tip-top condition for generations to come.”
