The consultation revealed planned activity, such as the construction of fifty out-stations for Solomon
Power over the next seven years, which will require approximately 150 trained electricians. Most
for trade skills, but also in areas such as leadership and management, and project management.
PNG
workshop including new equipment and the upgrade of existing equipment.
APTC led the development of the National Automotive Training Centre, including equipment
procurement and installation, workshop design, and facility customisation to facilitate streamlined
training delivery alongside POMTech personnel.
Engagement with a regional delegation from Don Bosco to discuss training requirements and future
pathways for skills upgrades for trainers was facilitated by the CM PNG.
APTC trainers assisted the National Automotive Trade Testing Board (NATTB) with assessments of
apprentices in fitting and machining.
