Alumni Network
The APTC Alumni Network consists of seven chapters with over 6760 registered Alumni members,
an increase of more than 900 members since December 2015.
Activity Update
› The first edition of the 2016 Alumni e-Newsletter was published in June 2016, with the second
edition published in November 2016.
› Skilled Visa and Immigration Links were made available on the APTC website (Alumni page).
› “Facebook name” field and “Employment status” field was added to the web forms (Alumni
Sign-up and Update Contact Detail forms).
› Release of information consent for alumni has been updated on CRM.
› Alumni stories, graduate profiles and alumni related images are regularly posted on the
alumni webpage and Facebook page.
› Over forty employment opportunities were shared with Alumni through Facebook and
LinkedIn.
› APTC Fiji alumni members met and interacted with Fijians previously sponsored for studies
by the Australian Government on 5 April. The event was hosted by DFAT at the Pacific Fusion
Restaurant in Suva. APTC students undertaking Commercial Cookery and Hospitality
courses provided catering for guests at the event.

The following professional development activities have been implemented this year:
Fiji
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop in Suva Fiji on 25 May.
› Small Business Workshop in Suva Fiji on 26 May organised by the Fiji campus.
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop hosted in Nadi on 2 June.
› Writing Business Proposal workshop for alumni in Suva on 18 August.
PNG
› Information session on further training opportunities and Seasonal Worker Program held
successfully in the PNG Campus, with over sixty participants.
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop on 10 May.
› Small Business Workshop on 18 May organised by the PNG campus.
› Public Speaking Workshop held 14 December
Samoa
› Small Business Workshop in Samoa on 16 June organised by the Samoa campus.
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop in Samoa on 30 November.
› Work Skills Forum conducted 8 December, organised by the Samoa campus.
Vanuatu
› Coaching Skills workshop in Vanuatu on 31 August.
› Small Business Workshop in Vanuatu in June organised by the Vanuatu campus.
Alumni Chapter Activities:
Fiji
› Assisting in the clean-up at the Nausori Hospital by cleaning rooms and facilities, repairing
furniture and safely storing away unused medical equipment. Alumni also cleaned the Health
Centre grounds and carried out landscaping works.
› Organised a get-together event in Labasa on 29 July for APTC alumni in the North. 20 alumni
attended the event. An additional meeting was held 10 November.
› Capacity building workshop held 25 August. At this event the APTC Alumni in Fiji had the
opportunity to learn about investment and the stock market, meditation and entrepreneurship
during a capacity building activity hosted by the APTC Alumni Fiji Chapter. The event featured
presentations from the South Pacific Stock Exchange, APTC graduates Tepora and Aisake
