Alumni Network<br />
The <strong>APTC</strong> Alumni Network consists of seven chapters with over 6760 registered Alumni members,<br />
an increase of more than 900 members since December 2015.<br />
Activity Update<br />
› The first edition of the <strong>2016</strong> Alumni e-Newsletter was published in June <strong>2016</strong>, with the second<br />
edition published in November <strong>2016</strong>.<br />
› Skilled Visa <strong>and</strong> Immigration Links were made available on the <strong>APTC</strong> website (Alumni page).<br />
› “Facebook name” field <strong>and</strong> “Employment status” field was added to the web forms (Alumni<br />
Sign-up <strong>and</strong> Update Contact Detail forms).<br />
› Release of information consent for alumni has been updated on CRM.<br />
› Alumni stories, graduate profiles <strong>and</strong> alumni related images are regularly posted on the<br />
alumni webpage <strong>and</strong> Facebook page.<br />
› Over forty employment opportunities were shared with Alumni through Facebook <strong>and</strong><br />
LinkedIn.<br />
› <strong>APTC</strong> Fiji alumni members met <strong>and</strong> interacted with Fijians previously sponsored for studies<br />
by the Australian Government on 5 April. The event was hosted by DFAT at the Pacific Fusion<br />
Restaurant in Suva. <strong>APTC</strong> students undertaking Commercial Cookery <strong>and</strong> Hospitality<br />
courses provided catering for guests at the event.<br />
Professional Development<br />
The following professional development activities have been implemented this year:<br />
Fiji<br />
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop in Suva Fiji on 25 May.<br />
› Small Business Workshop in Suva Fiji on 26 May organised by the Fiji campus.<br />
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop hosted in Nadi on 2 June.<br />
› Writing Business Proposal workshop for alumni in Suva on 18 August.<br />
PNG<br />
› Information session on further training opportunities <strong>and</strong> Seasonal Worker Program held<br />
successfully in the PNG Campus, with over sixty participants.<br />
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop on 10 May.<br />
› Small Business Workshop on 18 May organised by the PNG campus.<br />
› Public Speaking Workshop held 14 December<br />
Samoa<br />
› Small Business Workshop in Samoa on 16 June organised by the Samoa campus.<br />
› Training in the Workplace – Coaching Skills workshop in Samoa on 30 November.<br />
› Work Skills Forum conducted 8 December, organised by the Samoa campus.<br />
Vanuatu<br />
› Coaching Skills workshop in Vanuatu on 31 August.<br />
› Small Business Workshop in Vanuatu in June organised by the Vanuatu campus.<br />
Alumni Chapter Activities:<br />
Fiji<br />
› Assisting in the clean-up at the Nausori Hospital by cleaning rooms <strong>and</strong> facilities, repairing<br />
furniture <strong>and</strong> safely storing away unused medical equipment. Alumni also cleaned the Health<br />
Centre grounds <strong>and</strong> carried out l<strong>and</strong>scaping works.<br />
› Organised a get-together event in Labasa on 29 July for <strong>APTC</strong> alumni in the North. 20 alumni<br />
attended the event. An additional meeting was held 10 November.<br />
› Capacity building workshop held 25 August. At this event the <strong>APTC</strong> Alumni in Fiji had the<br />
opportunity to learn about investment <strong>and</strong> the stock market, meditation <strong>and</strong> entrepreneurship<br />
during a capacity building activity hosted by the <strong>APTC</strong> Alumni Fiji Chapter. The event featured<br />
presentations from the South Pacific Stock Exchange, <strong>APTC</strong> graduates Tepora <strong>and</strong> Aisake<br />
