naked man,” and the other things about which you wrote,
are not found. And after the words, “And he comes into Jericho,”
the [text] adds only,
[“And there were there the sister of the young man, whom
Jesus loved, him and his mother and Salome, and Jesus did
not receive them.”] But the many other things about which
you wrote both seem to be and are falsifications.
The plagiarists left nothing to chance. That is why we can
assume that the names of people or cities they chose also
send a message. With the reference to Jericho the falsifiers
gives us a clue to their plagiarism, for the doctrine of the Essene
Baptist deals with the angels of the night. Jericho is the
moon god, Jarich. In this text there are further references to
the Gospel of the Essenes, e.g. to baptism.
If the authenticity of the fourth book of the Gospel of Essenes
is proven by the Secret Gospel of Mark, then the authenticity
of the entire Gospel of Essenes, the books 1,2,3,4,
can no longer be placed in doubt. Nor can the parallels with
the writings from Qumran, discovered in 1945, be subject to
doubt.
Parallels between the Qumran texts and Essene
Gospel:
The Qumran scrolls, attributed by biblical scholars and historians
to the Essenes, were discovered in 1947. The content
of certain fragments contains not only the same terminology,
e.g. Sons of Light, Sons of Darkness, human sons, and in the
