these wreak destruction like that of fire sweeping through dry<br />
kindling under a windless sky. But man does not see the<br />
carnage, nor does he hear the piteous cries of his victims, for<br />
he is blind to the world of the spirit“. 73<br />

After the conspirators had given a different meaning to the<br />
chapter in the Essene <strong>Gospel</strong> concerning the gift of tongues,<br />
they had to create a substitute for those who had remembered<br />
the "gift of the tongues" in connection with the revelation<br />
of the Prophet.<br />
Even in this case, the falsifiers did not lack a sense of fantasy.<br />
In 1 Cor. 14: 2-20 we can read their solution. The gift of<br />
tongue was interpreted as resembling incomprehensible gibberish,<br />
though meant to prove that those who speak this language<br />
have received the Holy Spirit. The problem was thus<br />
eliminated from the world <strong>and</strong> became a good solution for<br />
all.<br />
“For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men,<br />
but to God; for no one underst<strong>and</strong>s; but in the Spirit he<br />
speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks to men for<br />
their edification, exhortation, <strong>and</strong> consolation. He who<br />
speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who<br />
prophesies edifies the assembly. Now I desire to have you all<br />
speak with other languages, but rather that you would<br />
prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who<br />
