1. That the Romans were not to be recognized as persecutors
of the Prophet.
2. Demonstrate the malice of the Jewish people who
purportedly intended to murder the holy man.
3. Negate the true value of the woman.
4. Create an image of the Jews as ruthless - for the
reader asks himself, "If the disciples are like this, then
what are the others like?"
5. Accept the message as a child, meaning learning to
believe in everything without question.
Here is the forgery appearing in the New Testament:
They were bringing to him little children, that he should
touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing
them. But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation,
and said to them, “Allow the little children to come
to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to
such as these. Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not
receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way
enter into it.” He took them in his arms, and blessed them,
laying his hands on them. Mr 10,13-16 60
