The most recent example within the bank's digital<br />

strategy is the launching of an app for companies<br />

with which Bankinter seeks that both company<br />

managers and their proxies find it easier to carry out<br />

their everyday managing operations. Among the<br />

main functionalities, there is the possibility to allow<br />

the signing of operations in which the client company<br />

appears as proxy, among other options that can be<br />

accessed not only through a computer or tablet, but<br />

also via mobile phone.<br />

This is not the only example of innovation recognised<br />

as a Bankinter hallmark. The bank has pioneered<br />

in the use of new technologies applied to the<br />

improvement of customer services with companies<br />

as a priority area. The organisation, commanded by<br />

María Dolores Dancausa, continues working in the<br />

launching of new products and services that allow<br />

the customer gain speed and efficiency within a multi-channel<br />

strategy.<br />

BANKINTER, THE MOST PROFITABLE BANK WITH THE<br />

BEST ASSET QUALITY<br />

In recent years, Bankinter has done its best to become<br />

the most profitable bank in the Spanish market,<br />

with a return on equity (ROE) on its own resources of<br />

12% at the closing of the first semester of <strong>2017</strong>.<br />

Apart from that, it has to be said that Bankinter is one<br />

of the most active banks in credit granting, especially<br />

those intended for companies, and it has increased customer<br />

resources (deposits, funds, and other savings and<br />

investment options). Bankinter adapts and customises<br />

these products in order to meet the corporate needs of<br />

its customers.<br />

It is also one of the main banks in terms of solvency and<br />

business growth. Besides, it is also the organisation<br />

with the best system's asset quality, with a default index<br />

of 3.74%, which is less than half of the sector average.<br />

These data confirm the good risk management traditionally<br />

carried out by the bank, as well as the quality of<br />

its customers.<br />

This strength was reflected in the evolution of the bank's<br />

results, which, in 2016, reached a historic high: Bankinter<br />

earned the record figure of 490 million euros, 30%<br />

more than in the previous year, and with a strong growth<br />

in all of its business lines, despite the environment of<br />

minimum interest rates.<br />

In <strong>2017</strong>, the bank's overall objective is driven towards<br />

organic growth in all markets, by particularly targeting<br />
