DAY 1 uk – NETHERLANDS
We depart local area and head to the Port
of Dover for our late morning crossing.
Travel through France and Belgium to
reach Valkenburg with time to settle in
and unpack before Dinner in the
Restaurant. After, enjoy a stroll into the
town centre and drink in one of the many
bars.
DAY 2 MAASTRIChT
This morning we head to the charming
city of Maastricht. Considered the oldest
and most beautiful city in the
Netherlands. Enjoy strolling the tangled
streets and eating/drinking delicious
regional cuisine in one of its many
outdoor cafes overlooking the river Maas.
Or visit the world’s finest bookstore –
housed in the thrilling setting of a 13 th
Century Dominican Church. After lunch,
we head to the little whitewashed town of
Thorne to look a bit deeper than its white
washed surface.
DAY 3 DRIELANDENPUNT
This morning after a hearty breakfast, our
scenic journey takes us to the highest
point of the Netherlands where the
borders of the Netherlands, Germany and
Belgium all meet at the ‘Drielandenpunt’.
We continue to the stunning German
town of Monschau nestled within the Eifel
Hills, located on the river Rur. This
chocolate box location with its narrow
streets, lined with half-timbered houses is
an absolute photographers paradise.
DAY 4 DAY AT LEISURE
Today is at leisure in this delightful
location. We further enhance the day with
a ride around the town of Valkenburg
aboard our ‘Land Train’ before heading
into the underground Caves. Here we
discover the oldest marl cave in the
Netherlands home to the resistance
during WW2. Witness mural paintings,
plaques, sculptures and shelters dating
right back to the cold war.
DAY 5 NETHERLANDS - UK
Sadly after breakfast, we bid farewell to
Valkenburg and retrace our steps back
home.
