DAY 1 DURHAM
We head today to the old University City
of Durham, with its magnificent Cathedral
and crowned with a Norman Castle.
Delight in its winding cobbled medieval
streets, relax by the riverside, take a
cruise or browse its many boutiques. A
visit to the Angel of the North Sculpture
completes our day before we arrive late
afternoon into Newcastle.
DAY 2 HEXHAM/HADRIAN’S WALL
We visit the market town of Hexham with
its winding streets, ancient shambles,
eclectic independent shops and market
place sandwiched in between its
impressive Abbey and Moot Hall. Then it’s its
onto Hadrian’s Wall up to 2 meters thick
in places, which stretches 73 miles from
coast to coast built by the Roman Army to
guard its North West Frontier of the
Roman Empire.

DAY 3 NEWCASTLE
This morning we are joined by a local
guide to further enhance our time in
Newcastle. This vibrant City boasts
historic attractions along with
breathtaking architecture. See the iconic
Gateshead Millennium Bridge, impressive
Cathedral, Medieval Fortress, followed by
free time for shopping and sightseeing.
DAY 4 CRAGSIDE
After a hearty breakfast, we’re off to
Cragside to enter the world of Lord
Armstrong – Victorian Inventor and
Landscape Genius. The first house in the
world to be lit by hydroelectricity and
crammed full of ingenious gadgets, along
with its incredible gardens housing 5
lakes and 7 million trees and shrubs.
DAY 5 NORTHALLERTON
A leisurely start to the day, before
heading to the thriving bustling market
town of Northallerton in North Yorkshire.
Time for Lunch and Sightseeing before
we head back home.
