DAY 1 DURHAM
We head today to the old University City
of Durham, with its magnificent Cathedral
and crowned with a Norman Castle.
Delight in its winding cobbled medieval
streets, relax by the riverside, take a
cruise or browse its many boutiques. A
visit to the Angel of the North Sculpture
completes our day before we arrive late
afternoon into Newcastle.
DAY 2 NEWCASTLE
This morning we are joined by a local
guide to further enhance our time in
Newcastle. This vibrant City boasts
historic attractions along with breathtaking
architecture. See the iconic
Gateshead Millenium Bridge, impressive
Cathedral, Medieval Fortress followed by
free time for sightseeing and shopping.

DAY 3 LINDISFARNE/SEAHOUSES
Today we cross the tidal causeway to the Holy
Island of Lindisfarne. It is famous for its
tranquillity, spirituality and scenic beauty. After,
if possible, we land on Longstone Island and
visit the ‘Grace Darling Lighthouse’.
DAY 4 bamburgh castle
A scenic coastal drive today takes in the
villages of Warkworth situated on the river
Coquet and picture postcard Alnmouth
with its gaily painted houses before our
visit to mighty Bamburgh Castle – a
formidable fortress set against golden
sands.
DAY 5 THIRSK
We head to the charming town of Thirsk
in the heart of James Herriot Country.
Time for lunch or visit the World of James
Herriot Museum (Admission not
included).
