Since becoming a university in 1992, Liverpool John Moores University<br />

(LJMU) has grown substantially, in line with the policy of successive<br />

governments, to extend the scope and accessibility of higher education in<br />

The World of Work Scheme<br />

LJMU recognises that partnerships are crucial to future success, in terms of<br />

attracting students, securing additional income streams and enhancing their<br />

reputation; both within the UK and on the international market place.<br />

During the site visit, the Assessor Team were impressed with the structured<br />

approach adopted, range of partnerships formed and additional value<br />

generated.<br />

� Academic Partnerships are managed by the Collaborative<br />

Partnerships Team, using the Collaborative Partnership Handbook.<br />

� LJMU has formed major partnerships with a number of high profile<br />

employers to develop the World of Work (WoW) TM scheme. This<br />

scheme is a key differentiator in attracting students; companies
