message from the president
For ASA 05 or the January-February 2022 issue of ASA Journal, the
first issue of the year (of the tiger), we continue to explore the ‘Home
Smart Home’ theme with some very interesting academic contents
including think pieces on the selected architectural projects by
experienced profession practitioners about the integration of home
automation technologies and new living innovations to the process
of architectural design.
The amalgamation enables new functionalities that better correspond
with and cater to people’s contemporary everyday lifestyles
and demands. We think the contents featured in this issue will be
beneficialand provide some great insights as a guideline for everyone
regarding their work and practice in the future.
As the president of the association, I would like to say thank you
to all the members who have been following ASA Journal through
the years and entrusted me with this responsibility once again.
The gratitude extends to your incredible support and participation
in the activities we have put together.
An interesting activity we have been preparing for this year is the
ISA Dinner Talk Series 2022. The casual talk aims to encourage our
fellow architects to exchange and share their thoughts and experiences,
including updates on new materials from manufacturers
and suppliers. We have been planning for the event to take place
in an actual physical space to lift everyone’s spirit up with the
energy of being able to see each other again. The event will follow
the COVID-19 preventive measures where an ATK test will be
required from every participant, and everyone will be asked to
check their body temperature before entering the venue. The first
talk was already held on January 26th, 2022 with the next one is
set to happen on February 23rd and March 16th, 2022. Don’t forget
to follow up on new updates and register to join us in many great
activities. Thank you.
