The design divides the building’s functional<br />
spaces into two wings, which house the<br />
sleeping quarters with windows that can be<br />
left open for wind to flow through. The center<br />
of the roof is elevated for the airflow to work<br />
its way into the inside of the house. The first<br />
of the two courtyards is home to a common<br />
space with a visual access to the living area<br />
and dining room. The second courtyard is<br />
where the climbing wall is set up with the semioutdoor<br />
space that gives off an energetic vibe<br />
of a workout zone.<br />
The courtyards on all the floors are designed<br />
to have alternating voids, passageways or terraces,<br />
and together they create a cadence of<br />
how the spaces are perceived and experienced<br />
while making the four-story building look and<br />
feel less formal with a sense of place that<br />
makes it a home.<br />
The void at the staircases is designed to deviate<br />
into a different plane on each of the floors,<br />
making the space look and feel warmer and<br />
more intimate. Each opening or corner is<br />
