mother’s day in delray beach
Celebrating Mom
“It’s not easy being a mother.
If it were easy, fathers would do it.”
By Linda brown
We agree with the Golden Girls -
so here are a few ideas on how
to make Mother’s Day special...
Shopping
While flowers, food, and greeting cards are
a given, you’ll also want to make sure you take
care of Mom with a beautiful gift.
We recommend that you shop local this
Mother’s Day. There is no need to venture out
of Delray to find jewelry, fragrances, fashion,
and more. In a shameless plug, we urge you to
use Atlantic Ave Magazine for ideas and deals.
And when shopping locally tell them we sent
you!
Dining options
There’s no shortage of options for
a memorable Mother’s Day brunch,
lunch, or dinner in Delray. Frankly,
you cannot go wrong taking Mom
to any restaurant in All America
City. However, we recommend
making a reservation. Delray’s
culinary reputation makes it a
Mother’s Day hub so early reservations
are a must to guarantee a
wonderful experience.
The good news is Delray offers
all sorts of options: beachside
dining, downtown sophistication,
ethnic cuisine, garden views, golf
course views—it’s all right here.
But if Mom would prefer to dine
at home, take-out from any of our
local restaurant – or…visit the Delray Green-
Market at Old School Square, and pick up fresh
local produce and make Mom a home-cooked
meal! Started in 1996 by the Community Redevelopment
Agency, the GreenMarket has
become one of the most popular and charming
aspects of “the season” in Delray Beach.
At the GreenMarket you will find more than
65 premier food vendors featuring farm-tofork
produce, just picked citrus, tropical fruit
and juice, farm fresh eggs, raw milk and butter,
artisan cheese and jams, fragrant baked goods,
plenty of gluten-free, vegan and organic products,
fresh cut flowers, plants and other unique
gourmet fare along with live musical entertainment
each Saturday. The GreenMarket is at
Old School Square Saturdays from 9am to 2pm
through May 21.
