Lacking some motivation for your workout these days? A gym buddy<br />
just might be the solution to your workout blues! Here are 5 reasons<br />
why getting your sweat on with a friend will improve your health and<br />
give you that motivation you need to get your gym mojo back!<br />
1. Accountability<br />
It’s one thing to bail on your own workout, but it’s much harder to<br />
ditch a workout when you’re going to be letting your workout buddy<br />
down. In addition to this, having a workout partner means you have<br />
to plan your workouts in advance to meet each other’s schedules,<br />
and once it’s scheduled, it’s much more likely that you’re going to<br />
follow through with it. So when you’re feeling lazy and want to ditch<br />
your workout, having the accountability of a buddy will greatly increase<br />
your chances of making that workout happen!<br />
2. Try New Workouts<br />
Sometimes it can be intimidating walking into a new environment…new<br />
workout, new people etc. That’s where your workout<br />
buddy comes into play! Having a friend with you can make the experience<br />
much less intimidating and definitely a lot more fun!<br />
3. Good Ole Support<br />
Because we’re all human, at some point you’ll probably feel like<br />
throwing in the towel for various reasons. However, the support<br />
from your workout partner will most likely be just what you<br />
need to stay on track. A good workout buddy will be there<br />
to listen to your woes and then to tell you to get your<br />
butt back in the gym, just like any good friend would!<br />
The support you will both offer each other will be immeasurable.<br />
4. Buddy Assessments<br />
It’s difficult to view yourself objectively. When it comes<br />
to your fitness progress, you may not notice how your<br />
strength and endurance is improving or that you’ve lost<br />
weight or gained muscle over time. Your workout buddy can<br />
view you more objectively and remind you of your progress so<br />
far. Having that validation can help bolster your self-esteem and<br />
keep your motivation levels high.<br />
5. Step Up yOur Game<br />
Let’s be honest, we as human beings like to compete with one another.<br />
Having a workout buddy who is just a little fitter, just a little<br />
stronger than you are will keep you on your toes and striving for a<br />
little more in your workout. By trying to keep up with them, you’ll<br />
challenge yourself in ways you didn’t think were possible!<br />
