Delray Under $50
Most Fun Small Town, Most Crazy Small Town, Most Small Town that Feels
Like a Big Town. Delray has it all. With a bustling downtown, Pineapple
Grove area, and little nooks and crannies in between, there’s more
to do in Delray now than ever, with events and happenings
spanning from daytime to nighttime. While it can
seem expensive at times, there’s a great
opportunity to enjoy all the City has to offer
without breaking the bank. Here’s what you can
do in Delray Beach in May for $50 or less.
A
garden is literally the gift that keeps on giving. Whether
you’re growing flowers, plants, fruits, herbs, vegetables, or
woody ornamentals, with a little sweat equity, the garden
will continue to provide. May is Gifts from the Garden Month and
is a perfect time to thank all the local gardeners and farmers who
toil the soil for our endless pleasure.
May is the last month of the
Delray Beach Winter Green-
Market so make sure to head
downtown to enjoy the last
of the season’s goods. The
Winter GreenMarket features
more than 65 premier food vendors
featuring farm-to-fork produce,
just picked citrus, tropical
fruit and juice, farm fresh eggs, raw
milk and butter, artisan cheese and
jams, fragrant baked goods, plenty of
gluten-free, vegan, and organic products,
fresh cut flowers, plants and other
unique gourmet fare, along with live
musical entertainment, every Saturday
from 9am to 2pm. Not only is the Winter
GreenMarket an amazing one-stop-shop
to get all the delicious food you’ll
need for the week, but it’s a great
opportunity to people watch, get some sun, enjoy some puppy pets,
and spend time with a few hundred of your local neighbors. The
Winter GreenMarket is held at Old School Square Park, 51 N. Swinton
Ave, and the last Winter GreenMarket is Saturday, May 21. Visit
Wait, how it is May?
Wasn’t it just the New
Year last week? When
the daily grind gets in the way of
the daily stopping-and-smellingof-the-roses,
it’s time to take a seat,
enjoy a sigh, and revel in the scenery.
May is National Mental Health Month
and a healthy reminder to be kind to
your brain and body. Everyone needs a
break once in a while, and it’s okay to want
it, need it and get it! To push you in the right
direction, the good people at Old School Square
are hosting Free Concerts at Old School Square
Pavilion. All guests are invited to bring their own
chairs and blankets, grab a seat on the lawn, and enjoy
live music in the comfort of the great outdoors. Saturday,
May 14 features The Groove 2.0 (funk band) and
Saturday, Mya 21 features Fleetwood Max (Fleetwood
Mac tribute band). Drinks are available for purchase,
and you’re invited to order food for pick-up or delivery
from any of the downtown’s eateries.
Doors open at 6:30pm and the concerts
are held from 7:30 to 10pm.
The Old School Square Pavilion
is located at 51 N. Swinton Ave.
