Note: The principal advantage of GTF tracing is that the EXCI and CICS trace
entries can be combined in the same output, which can help considerably in
problem determination. However, the Gateway daemon and JNI trace cannot
be written to GTF and must be analyzed separately.
► To start with, you must enable both EXCI and CICS trace entries to be written
to GTF. The DFHXCOPT table is used to control EXCI tracing and to activate
an EXCI trace. You need to specify TRACE=2, and GTF=ON in the
DFHXCOPT table, as shown in Example 7-31.

► GTF tracing from CICS can be activated using the CETR transaction as
shown in Figure 7-10, by setting the GTF Trace Status to STARTED. We also
reduced the CICS trace entries to IS=1-2 and PC=1 to capture only MRO and
program control trace entries. This can be achieved using PF4 on the CETR
screen.
