20 <strong>CICS</strong> <strong>Transaction</strong> <strong>Gateway</strong> <strong>V5</strong><br />

<strong>The</strong> following are the values required in our configuration:<br />

► 1 NETID - US<strong>IBM</strong>SC<br />

<strong>The</strong> NETID is the VTAM SNA network name. It is defined for your VTAM<br />

network in the VTAM start options.<br />

► 2 PU — SC02009<br />

<strong>The</strong> PU SC02009 is the name of our workstations physical unit (PU). It is<br />

named in the VTAM switched major node as shown in 2.3.3, “VTAM switched<br />

major node” on page 27. We also used the same name for the workstation<br />

control point (CP).<br />

► 3 LU — SC02009I<br />

<strong>The</strong> LU SC02009I is the independent LU 6.2 used by the <strong>CICS</strong> <strong>Transaction</strong><br />

<strong>Gateway</strong>. It must also be defined to VTAM in a switched major node.<br />

► 4 XID — 05D02009<br />

<strong>The</strong> XID (or node ID) is configured in the VTAM switched major node using<br />

IDBLK and IDNUM. It is used in the XID exchange to activate the link station.<br />

► 5 MAC Address — 400022160011<br />

This is the MAC address of the communications adapter used by the VTAM<br />

front-end processor. This might by a communications controller such as the<br />

3172, or a 2216 router, or an OSA adapter.<br />

► 6 APPL — SCSCPJA1<br />

This is the <strong>CICS</strong> APPLID and also the VTAM APPL. It is defined in the VTAM<br />

application major node (see 2.3.1, “VTAM application major node” on<br />

page 26) used by the <strong>CICS</strong> region.<br />

► 7 LOGMODE — APPCMODE<br />

This the mode group used to control LU 6.2 session properties. It must be<br />

defined in a VTAM logon mode table, which must be named on the VTAM<br />

APPL definition as shown in 2.3.2, “VTAM logon mode table” on page 27.<br />

► 8 SSCP — SC38M<br />

This the CP for the PU of the VTAM front-end processor. In VTAM, it is<br />

referred to as the SSCP.
