Important: You might also be tempted to modify the current.env file<br />

instead of using the Administration application for updating J2EE Server<br />

definitions, since this is a lot quicker than using the Administration<br />

application. If you do update current.env, the update will last only until the<br />

next conversation is activated and your change will not be input to the next<br />

conversation. However, this is still a very useful method for quickly making<br />

minor or temporary changes, such as settings trace parameters or<br />

modifying the CLASSPATH.<br />

5. Now turn on connection management in the sysplex. To do this, expand the<br />

tree down to the sysplex level (in our case, click 24.5 15:45 -> Sysplexes -><br />

WTSCPLX1). <strong>The</strong>n right-click the sysplex name and select Modify. In the<br />

Configuration Extensions section, check the box labeled Connection<br />

Management. Click Selected -> Save to save your changes.<br />

6. Next, expand the list of J2EE Servers and locate the J2EE Server that you<br />

wish to use with the <strong>CICS</strong> ECI resource adapter. Right-click the J2EE Server<br />

and select Modify. See Figure 10-9.<br />

7. Make the following changes in the environment variable list:
