<strong>and</strong> tactical knowledge involved here. Usually two or three different<br />

intercepts are chosen, each of which is considered optimal in one likely<br />

combat scenario, <strong>and</strong> these tactics are practiced constantly under the most<br />

realistic conditions possible to develop <strong>and</strong> maintain proficiency. Then,<br />

when the pilots get their chance for real, they select the most appropriate<br />

tactic <strong>and</strong> go for it.
