Annual Retreat 2011 sessions were held for <strong>the</strong> Board of<br />
Direc<strong>to</strong>rs, Senior Management and Management.<br />
Town Hall 2011 roadshows were held in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu<br />
and Miri from 29 November <strong>to</strong> 2 December.<br />
Annual Dinners 2011 were held for employees in Kuching, Sibu,<br />
Bintulu and Miri from 30 November <strong>to</strong> 4 December.<br />
CMS Games were held from July until end of 2011 for<br />
employees <strong>to</strong> encourage ‘Synergy Through Sports’. Games<br />
included badmin<strong>to</strong>n, futsal, bowling, football, darts, table tennis<br />
and <strong>the</strong> CMS Health & Charity Run.<br />
OurCMS in-house newsletters were published quarterly.<br />
CMS Safety Alert newsletters were published bi-monthly.<br />
The 4th phase of Key Performance Indica<strong>to</strong>rs (KPI) implementation was completed with <strong>the</strong> inclusion<br />
of supervisors and senior non-executives on <strong>the</strong> KPI system. By end 2012, <strong>the</strong> KPI shall phase out <strong>the</strong><br />
normal appraisal system for <strong>the</strong> purposes of bonus payments.<br />
Care for Our People<br />
In a demonstration of showing care <strong>to</strong> our employees in <strong>the</strong>ir time of need, <strong>the</strong> CMS Compassionate<br />
Fund was expended <strong>to</strong> 5 employees in 2011, where approximately RM38,000 in cash was given out.<br />
Health & Safety<br />
The emphasis on improving <strong>the</strong> safety culture across CMS was maintained in <strong>the</strong> year 2011. The<br />
inclusion of de-merit points in all KPIs of all executive-level employees and above which <strong>to</strong>ok effect in<br />
2010 continued in 2011.<br />
Safety awareness is communicated through <strong>the</strong> CMS bi-monthly Safety Alert newsletters and increased<br />
training on safety and proper handling of machinery and equipment, compliance <strong>to</strong> Safety policies and<br />
procedures including regular <strong>to</strong>olbox briefi ngs were carried out at all manufacturing operations.<br />
The result has been a greater awareness on <strong>the</strong> importance of safety, and zero fatalities and permanent<br />
disabilities across CMS Group throughout 2011.<br />
