CAREER HiGHLiGHTS<br />

Has saved 187 games in 551 appearance over 10 seasons with Seattle (2001), Colorado (2002-08), Los<br />

Angeles (2009-10) and Minnesota (2010)…183 of those saves have come since 2005, which is eighth<br />

most in the majors over that span…they are the most among left-handed relievers…his 187 career saves<br />

are second most among active left-handers to Billy Wagner (422)…is a four-time All-Star as he was<br />

named to the National League squad in three consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2007 with Colorado and<br />

the American League team in 2009 with Los Angeles…led the majors with 48 saves in 2009 with Los<br />

Angeles…saved 115 games with Colorado from 2002-08, which is a Rockies’ franchise record…pitched<br />

for Team USA in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.<br />

2010 HiGHLiGHTS<br />

Started the season as the closer with Los Angeles (AL) but finished it in a set-up role with Minnesota<br />

following a late August trade…combined for a 4-1 record, 24 saves and a 2.81 ERA in 48 relief<br />

appearances…allowed a .181 opponents batting average, which ranked fifth lowest among American<br />

League relievers…it was his lowest mark since posting a .171 opponents average in 10 games in his<br />

rookie season of 2001…issued 20 walks for a .273 opponents on-base percentage, which is a career<br />

low…first batters faced hit .122, which was fifth lowest in the AL…now has a .202 (99 for 489) average<br />

against first batters in his career, which ranks fifth best among active pitchers…his opponents batting<br />

average broke down to .128 (6 for 47) against left-handed hitters and .202 (25 for 124) against righthanders…allowed<br />

just one extra base hit to lefties (double) for a .149 slugging percentage…righties<br />

slugged .403…posted a 4.26 ERA and .219 opponents batting average in 26 outings before the All-Star<br />

Break, a 1.19 ERA and .133 opponents average in 22 appearances after the break…converted 24 of 28<br />

(85.7%) save opportunities and allowed 1 of 3 (33.3%) inherited runners to score…compiled a 0.90<br />

ERA in 10 outings on no days rest…yielded a .144 average with the bases empty, .239 with runners on…<br />

did not allow a run and converted all 10 of his save opportunities in 15 outings against AL West teams<br />

(14.0 ip, 2 h, 2 bb, 15 so).<br />

LOS AnGELES: Started the season on the Angels’ roster as the closer…made his first appearance<br />

Opening Day, April 5 vs. Minnesota, saving the game with a scoreless ninth inning…was placed on<br />

the disabled list the next day with a strained muscle in his back…made one rehab start with Single-A<br />

Rancho Cucamonga (1.0 ip, 1 so) before he was reinstated April 21…suffered the loss with a blown save<br />

that day against Detroit, allowing two runs in 0.2 innings...earned his first win April 28 vs. Cleveland,<br />

tossing 1.0 scoreless inning…was the winner in two consecutive appearances, May 26 vs. Toronto and<br />

May 29 vs. Seattle…converted nine straight save opportunities from June 3 to July 1...eight of the saves<br />

were scoreless appearances…allowed just one earned run over a 20-game stretch from June 22 to Aug.<br />

21 (20.0 ip, 0.45 ERA), including 12 consecutive scoreless appearances from June 22-July 25 (12.0<br />

ip)…converted eight consecutive save opportunities, July 9 to Aug. 10 before being traded to Minnesota<br />

for a player to be named later, Aug. 27…ranked 10th in the AL in saves at the time of the trade.<br />

MinnESOTA: Earned a one-out save in his first appearance with the Twins Aug. 28 at Seattle, striking<br />

out his only batter, Russell Branyan…appeared in five games for the Twins (4.1 ip) before allowing his<br />

first hit, Sept. 22 vs. Cleveland…pitched a season-high 2.0 innings Sept. 25 at Detroit…the 2.0 innings<br />

tied a career-high, last done July 27, 2006 (with Colorado)…allowed just three earned runs in his final<br />

30 appearances (30.2 ip) after June 21 for an ERA of 0.88...held opponents to a .139 batting average in<br />

that span with no home runs…did not allow a run while with the Twins in nine appearances (9.2 ip) with<br />
