CAREER<br />

2009—Made his major league debut in 2009, appearing in 10 games across five separate stints out of<br />

the Rangers bullpen…was with the club from May 29 (Game 2)-June 1, June 9-19, July 28-29, Aug. 18-<br />

19 and Sept. 1 to the end of season…spent the bulk of the year used primarily as a starter in the minor<br />

leagues and had notable success against left-handers, who combined to hit just .172…began the season<br />

at Double-A Frisco and was promoted directly to Texas before getting optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma<br />

City…combined to make 10 relief appearances with Texas, posting no record and a 3.21 ERA…<br />

recorded 12 strikeouts against six walks…opposition batted .268 with six doubles and one homer…held<br />

right-handers to a .205 clip…lefties hit .412…opponents went just 4-for-23 (.174) with runners in scoring<br />

position…logged at least 1.0 full inning in all but one of his appearances…entered a game with the<br />

Rangers trailing in eight of his 10 outings, all losses…made his major league debut with 1.0 scoreless<br />

inning of relief May 30 vs. <strong>Oakland</strong>…worked the ninth inning of that 14-1 victory over the <strong>Athletics</strong>,<br />

allowing two hits with one strikeout (Landon Powell)…threw a season-high 3.1 innings of relief July<br />

29 vs. Detroit…half of his outings came following his fifth and final recall by Texas on Sept. 1…split<br />

the majority of his season between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma City…combined to go 8-5<br />

with a 3.12 ERA over 21 games, 18 starts…made his Triple-A debut after being optioned from Texas<br />

June 1 and went 5-4 with a 2.31 ERA over 12 games, 11 starts…won his RedHawks debut June 3 vs.<br />

Memphis (6.0 ip, 1 er)…allowed his only two home runs with Oklahoma City in back-to-back at bats in<br />

the 4th inning July 23 at New Orleans…began the season with Frisco, going 3-1 with a 4.46 ERA over<br />

nine games, seven starts, leading up to his promotion to Texas May 29…struck out 11 in 8.1 innings in<br />

winning his final start for Frisco May 25 vs. San Antonio…went 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 16 games, three<br />

starts, for Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League, allowing just one home run in 26.2 innings.<br />

2008—After a DL stint to open the season, combined to go 5-4 with a 2.70 ERA in 21 games, including<br />

12 starts for Single-A Lakeland and Double-A Erie…recorded 122 strikeouts against just 21 walks, as<br />

opponents batted a combined .194…opened the season on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain,<br />

but was activated May 15…had three different 10-strikeout games in his 12 starts for the year…was promoted<br />

from Lakeland to Erie July 30 and struck out 50 of 135 (37.0%) total batters faced in his Double-<br />

A debut, as Eastern League opponents hit just .190…each of his six starts came in August, as his 50<br />

strikeouts ranked second in the league for the month, his first month at Double-A…pitched for Caracas<br />

in the Venezuelan Winter League, posting a 2-1 record and a 5.57 ERA in 11 games, two starts.<br />

2007—Spent the bulk of year with Oneonta, but made spot starts with both Single-A Lakeland and West<br />

Michigan…named Oneonta’s Pitcher of the Year…selected to the New York-Penn League’s mid-season<br />

All-Star squad…tied for second in the NYP with eight wins…also ranked among the league leaders in<br />

ERA (4th, 2.37) and innings (4th, 79.2)…ranked third among all league starters with 10.28 baserunners<br />

per nine innings…named NYP Pitcher of the Week for July 9-15 after he won both of his starts and<br />

tossed 15.0 scoreless innings…tossed a perfect game July 15 vs. Batavia (9.0 ip, 7 so), a 6-0 Oneonta<br />

win…did not allow a run over 24.2 innings in a four-start stretch from July 3-20…made a start for<br />

Lakeland June 14 vs. Tampa (3.0 ip, 0 r) before joining Oneonta…finished the year with a start for West<br />

Michigan Aug. 31 vs. Great Lakes, a no decision (8.0 ip, 5 h, 1 r, 1 er, 0 bb, 7 so)…did not pitch for West<br />

Michigan in the club’s Midwest League championship run…made 10 relief appearances for Caracas in<br />

the Venezuelan Winter League and was 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA.<br />

2006—Spent the season with Detroit’s Gulf Coast League entry, compiling a 2.03 ERA over his final six<br />

games, one start…had a 2.19 ERA in his 10 relief appearances.<br />

2005—In his first year pitching in the United States, he spent the season with Oneonta in the New<br />

York-Penn League…tossed a season-high 7.0 innings in earning his final win of the season July 25 at<br />

Aberdeen (7.0 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 1 er, 0 bb, 10 so).<br />

2004—Tied for second in the Dominican Summer League with three complete games…was 6-3 with a<br />

1.90 ERA in 15 games, 11 starts.<br />

2003—Spent his first year as a professional in the Dominican Summer League, compiling a 1.85 ERA<br />

in 12 games, two starts, for the Tigers DSL affiliate.<br />
