A’S AMiGOS: The A’s Amigos
program gives Hispanic children
the opportunity to hear an A’s player
speak about the importance of
education, sportsmanship and hard
work. In addition to a pre-game visit,
each child receives a game ticket
and an A’s cap. The A’s Amigos
program is sponsored by XFINITY,
Home of the Most Live Sports.
LiTTLE A’S: Each year, over
10,000 children from low to moderate-income
families are treated
to A’s games and receive a Bank
of America water bottle and family
passes to the Oakland Zoo. The Little A’s program is sponsored by Bank of America and supported by
Clorox and the Oakland Zoo.
HOLiDAY PARTY: The A’s Community Fund, Round Table Pizza and the Oakland Zoo host an annual
holiday party for local school children. Current and former A’s players are present to sign autographs
and distribute gifts to each child. The holiday festival features an animal presentation in the Wildlife
Theater by the Oakland Zoo, lunch, face painters, arts and crafts, and a visit by Santa and the A’s mascot
Stomper.
HOLiDAY CARAVAn: During the
offseason, current and former A’s
players and the A’s mascot Stomper
make stops around the Bay Area
during the A’s Holiday Caravan. The
caravan features visits to schools,
hospitals, shelters, meet-and-greets
and appearances at holiday parades
and malls and other public places.
TiCKET PURCHASE PRO-
GRAM: Oakland A’s players, the
A’s Community Fund and corporate
sponsors purchase and donate
thousands of game tickets to various
charitable and non-profit groups
each season.
SiLEnT AUCTiOn: The A’s Community Fund holds silent auctions of various sports memorabilia
behind section 120 on all Saturday and Sunday home dates. The A’s Community Fund donated a portion
of the proceeds to designated charitable groups as a silent auction partner on selected dates throughout
the season.
FiELD REnOVATiOnS: The A’s Community Fund, in partnership with the Good Tidings Foundation,
renovates a local baseball or softball field in order to provide local youth a state-of-the-art facility.
Over the past few years, the A’s and the Good Tidings Foundation renovated the baseball and softball
fields at Washington High School in Fremont, Rickey Henderson Baseball Field located at the Arroyo
Viejo Recreation Center in East Oakland and Bambino Field at the Greenman Field Baseball Complex.
A’S COMMUniTY FUnD GOLF CLASSiC: This annual tournament pairs participants with A’s
players, former players, coaches and A’s staff for a day of golf at one of the Bay Area’s top courses.
The event, sponsored by Chevron and State Roofing Systems of San Leandro, features breakfast, tee
prizes, an awards dinner banquet and live and silent auctions of sports memorabilia and other prizes. All
proceeds benefit the Oakland A’s Community Fund.
