CAREER HiGHLiGHTS<br />

Was the A’s 18th round pick in the 2005 draft…has compiled a .271 (545 for 2012) batting average with<br />

73 home runs and 305 RBI in 568 games over six minor league seasons…has reached double figures<br />

in home runs each of his last five seasons…was named to Midseason All-Star teams in the Midwest<br />

League in 2006, the California League in 2007 and the Texas League in 2008…has tossed out 207 of<br />

608 (34.0%) attempted base stealers in his career.<br />

2010 HiGHLiGHTS<br />

Began the season at Double-A Midland, hitting .211 with a home run and three RBI in 11 games before<br />

he was moved up to Triple-A Sacramento April 22…batted .288 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI in 80<br />

games with the River Cats…combined for a .278 average with 11 home runs and 45 RBI in 91 games<br />

overall…had a career-high .472 slugging percentage…batted .329 (24 for 73) against left-handed pitching<br />

and .260 (56 for 215) against right-handers…had a .222 batting average with four home runs and 20<br />

RBI in 40 games before the All-Star Break…then hit .355 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 40 games<br />

after the break…logged a .244 batting average with the bases empty, .325 with runners on, including<br />

.338 with runners in scoring position…hit .292 with 10 home runs and 41 RBI in 76 games at catcher<br />

and .163 in 15 games at designated hitter…batted .219 when leading off an inning…committed nine errors<br />

in 76 games at catcher for a .983 fielding percentage…tossed out 25 of 60 (41.7%) attempted base<br />

stealers…also appeared in two games at first base…hit in every spot in the order except third…saw his<br />

most action in the nine spot where he hit .356 (31 for 87) in 27 games.<br />

MinORS: Began the season at Midland and went 8 for 38 (.211) in 11 games before he was transferred<br />

to Sacramento April 22…went 6 for 35 (.171) over his first 10 games with the River Cats, giving him<br />

a .192 average in 21 games to start the season…was hitting .222 with three home runs and 17 RBI in<br />

40 games with Sacramento when he was placed on the disabled list June 25 with a strained oblique<br />

muscle…was reinstated from the DL July 15 and hit .355 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 40 games<br />

following his return…his Triple-A batting average was at .216 at the conclusion of play Aug. 4 but he<br />

went 11 for 15 (.733) with six runs, four doubles and four RBI over his next four games to boost his batting<br />

average 44 points to .260…had four RBI Aug. 7 at Albuquerque, went 5 for 7 against the Isotopes<br />

Aug. 8 and was a perfect 4-for-4 at Round Rock Aug. 11…homered four times over a four-game stretch<br />

from August 25 to 28, including a two-home run, five-RBI performance at Fresno on Aug. 28…the home<br />

runs and RBI were season highs…ended up batting .370 with eight doubles, one triple, four home runs<br />

and 15 RBI in 24 games in August…added 10 walks for a .440 on-base percentage…finished the regular<br />

season with a season-best seven-game hitting streak from Aug. 30 to Sept. 6 (13 for 29, .448)…then<br />

went 2 for 9 (.222) with a double in two postseason games for the River Cats.<br />

CAREER<br />

2009—Spent most of the season at Triple-A Sacramento where he batted .261 with 12 home runs and 45<br />

RBI in 78 games…also hit .298 with three home runs and nine RBI during a 16-game stint with Double-<br />

A Midland from April 29 to May 18…combined for a .267 batting average, 15 home runs and 54 RBI in<br />

94 games overall…the home runs tied for sixth best in the A’s farm system and he also ranked ninth in<br />

slugging (.462)…hit .287 with seven home runs in 101 at bats against left-handed pitching and .259 with<br />

eight home runs in 228 at bats against right-handers…batted .304 when leading off an inning…hit .244<br />

with 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 65 games before the All-Star Break and .326 with four home runs and<br />

12 RBI in 29 games after the break…appeared in 77 games at catcher and tossed out 24 of 72 (33.3%)<br />
