Jim leahey<br />

Vice President, Sales and Marketing<br />

Jim Leahey enters his fifth season with the <strong>Oakland</strong> <strong>Athletics</strong> as vice president,<br />

sales and marketing. He oversees the team’s sales and marketing efforts, including<br />

ticket sales, premium seating sales and service, corporate partnerships, advertising,<br />

and promotions. Leahey is spearheading the organization’s efforts to deliver<br />

exceptional value through an outstanding fan experience.<br />

Prior to joining the A’s, Leahey spent 14 years with Sony Corporation, working in a series of product<br />

development, marketing and general management roles. Spending time in Sony’s US and global operations,<br />

he worked in Latin America as general manager and country manager of Sony Peru, and in the<br />

United States as general manager and vice president of the Peripherals and Enhancements (accessories)<br />

Group. Leahey joined the A’s in December of 2006.<br />

A native of Rhode Island, Leahey earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Brown University<br />

in 1988 and his master’s in business administration from the Harvard Business School in 1993. Jim<br />

resides in Danville, Calif. with his wife, Kira, and their three children.<br />

Vice President, Broadcasting and Communications<br />

Celebrating his 21st season with the <strong>Athletics</strong> organization, Ken Pries was promoted<br />

to his current position of vice president, broadcasting and communications<br />

in March of 2000 after serving as the team’s senior director for broadcasting and<br />

communications for the previous three years.<br />

Pries oversees all of the A’s television and radio matters, in addition to the club’s<br />

community relations, public relations and Diamond Vision departments.<br />

Pries is responsible for negotiating all of the team’s broadcast agreements, which include the A’s Radio<br />

Network, and television partnership with Comcast SportsNet California. The A’s will televise over<br />

145 games this year, all in High Definition.<br />

Last season, the A’s Community Fund distributed approximately $600,000 to various projects and<br />

made donations to over 1,500 various charities throughout Northern California. The annual A’s Community<br />

Fund Golf Tournament, held at the Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, raised more than<br />

$125,000 and the 11th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day raised more than $70,000 for the American<br />

Cancer Society and the Northern California Cancer Center. The A’s 11th Annual MUG Root Beer Float<br />

Day raised over $31,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.<br />

Prior to joining the A’s organization in 1991, Pries worked seven years with KSFO radio, where he<br />

was an executive producer for A’s broadcasts, as well as Stanford football and men’s basketball broadcasts.<br />

Before his KSFO stint, Pries served as a sports coordinator at KNBR radio from 1979-84, where<br />

he worked on the station’s broadcasts of San Francisco Giants baseball games, along with University of<br />

San Francisco and Golden State Warrior basketball games.<br />

A native of Alameda, Calif., Pries attended San Francisco State University, where he majored in<br />

broadcast communicational arts. He resides in San Ramon, Calif. with his wife and their two children.<br />

david rineTTi<br />

Vice President, Stadium Operations<br />

David Rinetti enters his 31st season with the A’s organization and his 11th as<br />

vice president, stadium operations.<br />

In his current position, Rinetti coordinates event management, oversees all game<br />

day employees, including ushers, security officers, ticket takers, parking attendants<br />

and grounds crew, and assists in all construction related issues at <strong>Oakland</strong>-Alameda<br />

County Coliseum. He is also the team’s liaison with local law enforcement agencies and Major League<br />

Baseball’s Security Department. In addition, Rinetti sits on the team’s venue and design development<br />
