to 1-3 with an 8.28 ERA in 10 games, six starts on the road…allowed a .230 opponents batting average<br />

over his first 30 pitches in a game, .301 over pitches 31 through 75 and .471 after that…had a 1.93 ERA<br />

in the first inning of a game and a 7.87 ERA after that…received run support of two runs or fewer in 10<br />

of his 14 starts and had season run support of 3.80 in his starting assignments…the A’s scored just nine<br />

runs in his eight losses…pitched fewer than five innings in eight of his 14 starts…was selected from<br />

Triple-A Sacramento April 23 and made his Major League debut the next day at Baltimore…became the<br />

33rd pitcher in <strong>Oakland</strong> history to start in his debut and the 10th to win as he defeated the Orioles, 4-2<br />

(6.0 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 6 so)…lost his next start April 29 to Tampa Bay and was optioned back to<br />

Sacramento following the game…went 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA in two starts during his second stint from<br />

May 12 to 17…pitched exclusively in relief during his third stint from June 25 to July 6 and had a 4.50<br />

ERA in three appearances…returned to the rotation during his fourth stint from July 16 to Aug. 12 and<br />

was 0-4 with a 6.52 ERA in six starts…allowed a career high eight runs in 1.2 innings Aug. 12 at Detroit,<br />

his shortest outing as a starter…returned to <strong>Oakland</strong> for a fifth time Sept. 1 when rosters expanded and<br />

was 0-1 with a 7.78 ERA in seven games, four starts…was 3-3 with a 2.84 ERA in 13 combined starts<br />

with Sacramento and Double-A Midland…walked 21 and struck out 87 in 76.0 innings…allowed a<br />

.201 opponents batting average, which included .196 against right-handed hitters and .213 against lefthanders…opponents<br />

hit .191 with runners in scoring position…began the season at Midland and was<br />

promoted to Sacramento April 19…made his first career start at the Triple-A level April 19 at Portland<br />

and tossed 6.0 shutout innings…ended up with a no decision in the River Cats 6-5, 10-inning win and<br />

was promoted to <strong>Oakland</strong>…tossed back-to-back complete games in his final two minor league starts…<br />

had a five-hitter in a 4-1 loss to Fresno Aug. 22…then tossed a three-hit shutout Aug. 27 against Colorado<br />

Springs in a 3-0 Sacramento win…did not walk a batter and struck out a River Cats record 17 to<br />

earn Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week honors.<br />

2006—Was limited to just 10 appearances, all starts, after recovering from a humoral defect in his left<br />

shoulder…was a combined 4-0 with a 4.10 ERA at Double-A Midland, Single-A Stockton and the A’s<br />

affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League…did not allow a run in three starts (9.0 ip) in rookie ball before<br />

being promoted to Single-A Stockton, where he made three starts…made three more starts for the A’s<br />

in the AZL from Aug. 16-27 and was 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 12.0 innings…was then<br />

promoted to Double-A Midland and made one start vs. Frisco Sept. 1…was 3-1 with a 1.34 ERA in nine<br />

games, six starts, for Mayaguez in the Puerto Rican Winter League.<br />

2005—Was named the A’s Organizational Pitcher of the Year after combining for a 15-5 record and a<br />

3.52 ERA in 23 appearances, all starts, for Single-A Stockton and Double-A Midland…the 15 wins were<br />

tops among A’s minor league pitchers…posted a 6-0 record with a 2.68 ERA in seven starts for Stockton,<br />

limiting hitters to a .201 batting average…tossed a complete game, five-hitter with 11 strikeouts vs. San<br />

Jose May 11th…was promoted to Double-A Midland where he went 9-5 with a 3.90 ERA in 16 starts for<br />

the RockHounds…won five of his first six starts for Midland from May 17-June 12 (1.87 ERA).<br />

2004—Began the season at Single-A Vancouver and was 2-0 with two saves in seven appearances…<br />

allowed three earned runs on four hits in his first appearance of the year vs. Tri-City…did not allow a<br />

run over his next four appearances (8.0 ip)…finished the season at Single-A Kane County where he went<br />

2-1 with a 4.70 ERA in five appearances, all starts…did not receive a decision in his first two starts and<br />

was 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA over his last three outings.<br />

PERSOnAL/MiSCELLAnEOUS<br />

Dallas Lee Braden was originally signed by A’s scout Blake Davis…graduated from A.A. Stagg High<br />

School (Stockton, CA) where he earned league Pitcher of the Year honors and was named team MVP as<br />

a senior…graduated from American River College where he twice earned all-conference honors…attended<br />

Texas Tech University…was inducted into the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame, Nov. 17, 2010…<br />

has spent the past three Thanksgiving holidays soliciting, matching and serving food donations at St.<br />

Mary’s Interfaith Community Services in his home town of Stockton…in 2009 and 2010, has sponsored<br />

two children of a single-parent family from his former Hoover Tyler Little League in Stockton…has<br />

purchased and donated A’s tickets to the Hoover Tyler Little League…supports the A’s Community Fund<br />

Golf Classic…was the co-recipient of the 2009 Dave Stewart Community Service Award which is given<br />

annually to an A’s player for outstanding work in the community…served as a guest analyst on MLB<br />

Network during the 2010 postseason.<br />
